The Artist’s Way

A Course in Discovering and Recovering Your Creative Self

July 23-24-25,  Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday

Kathleen Grittner

Many of us desire to bring more creativity to our everyday life, but are unsure how to tap

into and integrate that creativity. The Artist’s Way is a specific method designed to free your

creativity, described in the book by Julia Cameron, The Artist’s Way, A Course in Discovering

and  Recovering Your Creative Self. Creativity is an in-born ability, something we all have,

something we can choose to “water” in our lives, use, and enjoy. These three-days are for

you to give focused attention to your desire and allow space for your natural creative self to grow.

Through experiential art-making and writing, we will explore many of the themes in the book. This retreat is a

guided encounter with your unique creative nature. No matter whether you have started The Artist’s Way at some

point, have never heard of it, or have completed the course, join us for this retreat to further explore some of the

specific themes, tools and methods of this process. Support yourself and others in this exhilarating, challenging,

playful, and rewarding work of “practicing the art of creative living”. “No matter what your age or your life path,

whether making art is your career or your hobby or your dream, it is not too late or too egotistical or too selfish

or too silly to work on your creativity.”  from Julia Cameron’s inspiring book, The Artist’s Way.

Kathleen Grittner, proprietress of Full Circle Retreat, where surrounded by the beauty

and energy of nature, she continues her life-long exploration of the many art forms and

spiritual practices that inspire her. Kathleen earned a master’s degree in art therapy at

Vermont College, in Montpelier, Vermont after studying studio arts, philosophy, literature,

world religions and psychology at Mount Mary College, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

For several years Kathleen designed and printed textiles that have been exhibited

nationally and internationally.

In a relaxing environment free from judgment, competition, or the pressure of certain results, Kathleen invites

you to experience your own inherent creativity. She shares the many influences and tools that she uses to inspire

imagination to come out and play, integrating meditation, music, movement, and writing into the art forms that

she practices. Art making is approached as playful experimentation in the spirit of curiosity, a way of listening to

your own inner teacher. She is also a trained SoulCollage® facilitator.

In 2003, Kathleen opened Full Circle Retreat to those who wish to experience the energy and joy that comes from

being in nature and creating in community.
